Hi SEABA members,
We hope you’ve all enjoyed butterflying during the year, that being a SEABA member has been worthwhile for you, and that both will be even better in 2017! As usual, your comments and suggestions about how we can improve are always welcomed.
Please read the following message.

Hi SEABA members,
As SEABA members we know that butterflies are beautiful and the life cycle of each species is amazing and almost impossible to comprehend or fully appreciate.
We probably also realize that more butterfly species have been observed in Arizona than in any other state in the U.S. except Texas. As SEABA members we learn about butterflies and mingle with like-minded folks, including some experts, at our monthly meetings. We observe/photograph butterflies during organized field trips, which also have fringe benefits such as enjoying Arizona’s fabulous scenery, getting much-needed exercise, breathing fresh air, soaking up sunshine, and temporarily escaping some of the stresses we regularly face.
Butterflies and SEABA are important parts of my life – and I’m grateful. In the words of William Arthur Ward, American writer (1921-1994), “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” Today I encourage each of us to consider how much being a SEABA member in Arizona is worth - and express our gratitude with a contribution to SEABA.
How does one determine how much to contribute? My approach will be to do a little re-prioritizing and not buy something during the coming year in order to reduce the ultimate cost of my SEABA contribution.
Great news: earlier this year the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) received an IRS 501(c)(3) Group Exemption. SEABA is included in this Group Exemption and is considered a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. That means donations made to SEABA qualify as tax deductible if you itemize deductions. For details, check with your tax consultant.
Please join me in contributing to SEABA. Whatever amount you choose to contribute will help move our Profit and Loss Statement to a positive balance, and will be greatly appreciated. Note that all contributions are strictly confidential and, most importantly, stay right here in Arizona!
Make your check payable to SEABA and mail it to: SEABA at P.O. Box 1012, Hereford, AZ 85615.
The Executive Committee and I wish you the very best during the Holidays. We look forward to great butterflying with you during 2017.
